New Opportunity Now Open at Cultivate + Craft

Operations & Membership Coordinator
About the role
Cultivate + Craft (C+C) supports Maryland’s craft alcohol manufacturers, value-added agriculture, and agritourism industries. We’re hiring a detail-driven operations pro to keep our wheels turning across C+C’s own work and to support our existing clients’ projects – organizing vendor and member info, steadying our systems, and supporting events and communications. This is an internal-operations role with regular outward touchpoints (vendors, members, partners).
Why this work matters
We’re a small, scrappy, and genuinely fun team that punches above our weight. Your work directly supports Maryland makers – breweries, wineries, distilleries, farms, and agritourism businesses – so what you organize on Tuesday can help a real business thrive by Friday. If you like variety, pitching in, and seeing your effort turn into visible wins for local producers, you’ll feel at home here.
Core responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for member inquiries, renewals and billing issues.
- Handle vendor communications for events, marketing, and product programs; maintain clean contact lists.
- Administer the membership platform (records, renewals, basic support, data hygiene, simple reports).
- Manage shared files and databases; organize SOPs and templates; keep docs findable and current.
- Coordinate bi-weekly newsletters: gather content, build/send in Mailchimp (or similar), track performance.
- Support event ops (forms, rosters, load-in info, signage lists); assist with ticketing page setup.
- Undertake light website/content updates (e.g., WordPress), post event pages, proof details.
- Manage and route general inbox inquiries; close the loop on follow-ups.
- Pull monthly dashboards across systems (membership, email, web, basic financial/exported reports).
- Collect and track Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and required vendor documents for all events (8-12 annually).
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years in admin/operations, association or event support, or similar “get-stuff-done” roles.
- Strong organization and follow-through; comfort juggling many small tasks accurately.
- Fluency with Google Workspace/Drive, spreadsheets (filters/pivots/lookups a plus), Square, Stripe and basic CRM/data work.
- Experience with an email platform (Mailchimp preferred) and a CMS (WordPress or similar).
- Professional oral communication skills and public presence.
- Excellent writing and communication skills: clear, concise copy for emails, newsletters, and web pages; strong proofreading and attention to detail; ability to adapt voice for members, vendors, and partners; comfortable drafting templates, FAQs, and SOPs; friendly vendor/member bedside manner.
Nice to have
- Experience with membership platforms (Glue Up or comparable).
- Light design chops (Canva) for simple one-pagers or graphics.
- Familiarity with ticketing tools (Eventbrite, TicketHive, etc.).
- Comfort and familiarity with documenting SOPs.
Logistics
- Location: Maryland-based or nearby strongly preferred; hybrid/remote with periodic in-person days.
- Schedule: Full-time; some evenings/weekends during major events.
- Travel: Occasional in-state travel for events/meetings.
- Compensation: $50k – $60k; commensurate with experience.
- Paid annual leave, cell phone stipend, mileage reimbursement. Additional compensation for working events.
- Laptop provided.
